DEDEKS® Umbilical Clamp
DEDEKS® Belly Clamp is made of plastic material in the form of a double-sided latch. Throughout its life in the placenta, the baby is sustained by a cluster of vessels called the vena umblicalis.
During labor, the umbilical cord is severed or cut proportionately by the midwife. As a result of the umbilical cord rupture, the baby now tries to survive on its own feet. In the womb, the baby is in a natural and sterile environment, during birth it moves to the delivery room environment and then to its natural environment.
The DEDEKS® Umbilical Clamp is used to prevent possible bleeding in the umbilical cord and to minimize gross debris and invisible bacterial contamination.
Approximately 0.5 cm to 1 cm from the vena umblicalis close to the body, the area is disinfected and the umbilical latch is locked.
